Website Changes

I had originally chosen to use Tumblr to make my website. This was because I have used Tumblr and have previously made changes in base codes to personalise it. I had thought that because of this past experience, it would be simpler for me to use Tumblr instead of a different website. However, the process to add pages etc, and change the code was a tedious and unreliable one. So, I have chosen to use Wix instead. It seems easier to understand and use, and there are also tutorials available on the website itself if I need help.

Rule of Thirds

Rule of thirds helped me to decide where I should place this specific image when I am cropping it, it also it helped me decide how my image would look when I was cropping it, as well as making it to focus on specific subject, which was my artist.

The website that I used to make this particular picture was https://www.befunky.com/create/   .

Digipak image filtering

I had used Instagram to filter the new images in my digipak. Not all the photos that I had used were filtered using Instagram, the other photos not pictured where filtered within Photoshop. I had discovered, that when filtering photos within Photoshop I found it difficult to filter the images highlights and shadows. In other words, I was only able to successfully filter the images as a whole, not the area desired. Although I could find ways in which I can do this, I wasn't able to find ways where I could change the colours of the highlights and shadows. These are a few examples of the filtered images:

Changing artist websites

I had initially decided to use Tumblr to promote my website, however my lack of knowledge and ability to code accurately had made me unable to continue with creating this, a few problems I had faced included: finding a suitable template that would best suit my artist, deciding on a template but being unable to edit it efficiently for example, if I wanted to create an 'About' page of my artist I didn't know how to change the coding for it and/or be able to insert a dedicated page. Also as the artist chosen is young age restrictions on users would mean that it would be harder to appeal to a wide audience.

As a substitution I had discovered that using Wix to create my website would benefit me. This is because no coding knowledge is needed to create the website, there are over 200 templates to choose from, the website also has specific templates for musicians which makes it easier for me to design.
